Evaluate charge performance at your reservoir conditions

The Advanced Perforating Flow Laboratory routinely conducts experiments in accordance with both Sections 2 and 4, of the API RP19B. Going further, operators often choose to conduct APFL tests at conditions matching their specific downhole environment. These are generally different – and often go well beyond – the standard test conditions. By evaluating charge performance at your reservoir conditions, you can use APFL testing to develop optimized charges tailored specifically for your reservoir.

Case Study

Increased Production in Mature Well-Operator’s Largest Producing Field

In the Caspian Sea, perforating and completion techniques damaged productivity in an operator’s largest field. In response, JRC developed a specialized shaped charge to maximize downhole penetration specific to the reservoir and wellbore environment. After testing at the APFL, the charge resulted in a 41% increase in clean perforation tunnels and a 34% increase in total core penetration depth.
